Matthew Salomonson

Matthew graduated in 1974 from the University of Surrey with a BSc Honours degree in Hotel and Catering Management.

He spent 25 years working in hotels throughout the UK mainly with the Forte Hotel Group, including over 20 years as a Hotel Manager in Essex, Shropshire and Staffordshire.

In 1999 Matthew was appointed as General Manager, Conference & Banqueting at Salomons. In this role his responsibilities included providing the services required for all meetings, conferences, weddings and other events that take place on the site.

Matthew is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the seven buildings and 36 acres of land at Salomons as well as managing the office and allied support services for the staff and students of Canterbury Christ Church University College on the site. In addition he acts as the College’s health and safety co-ordinator.

He lives with his partner Ann in Southborough and takes a keen interest in local affairs and the environment.
